Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe is a London born British-Nigerian entrepreneur and the founder of the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) and chairman of BUFF Enterprises. In April 2005, Emmanuel attended what was to become the last Urban Music Festival and it was after this event, in July of the same year, supported by filmmakers and actors, where he channelled his frustrations with the UK media industry by forming BUFF Enterprises to showcase urban independent cinema in the absence of any such state-sponsored activity in the UK. This quickly led to the creation of the British Urban Film Festival (aka the BUFF Film Festival) - the only one of its kind in the UK which is free to attend by the general public, only charging entry fees to film-makers who wish to submit their films in what is, according to the Film London agency, 'an important and emerging genre which is not otherwise seen regularly in the capital's cinemas'. photo © Alex Winn | Rose McDonald joined BUFF Enterprises in 2007 and brings with her 20+ years of experience in the media. Rose consults on film selection, sponsorship and collaboration with public bodies in supplying and producing content. In addition to her links with Skillset and Propeller TV, Rose has worked previously as a producer/director for the cable channel ACTV (African-Caribbean Television, now disbanded) and was a secretary and former chair of the black members council of the Broadcast Union Bectu. | Bernard Kordieh is one of the original founding members of BUFF Enterprises and sat on the inaugural board of members back in July 2005. The former UEL (University of East London) graduate has since gone on to develop a body of work as a writer, filmmaker and music video director which culminated with the creation of 4front Films. Bernard marked his directorial debut with the UK premiere of Stick With Me at the 2009 British Urban Film Festival at Stratford Picture House. In addition to his current consultancy role on the BUFF Board, Bernard continues to develop multiplatform projects for a range of organisations including The ACLT, ITV and Sky. photo © Andrea Siegl / Rob Fawcett | Ugo Onwutalu joined BUFF Enterprises in 2008 as BUFF events co-ordinator.
